Rebecca--You are an artist! You are writing a nonfiction book which makes sense since you want to teach science. My favorite part so far are the speech bubbles and the interaction of people in the book. I didn't know about the pygmy rabbit either....and am very curious what other animals are endangered in Washington state. I think middle school kids would love the opportunity to make a nonfiction picture book as a way of showing what they have learned (instead of taking a test). What do you think?
I think that's a great idea! And they could use different mediums for the illustrations like magazine clippings, photos, and/or drawings. I think it's a fun way for students to demonstrate their learning. Way more fun than a test for sure! :)
